Annual 4th of July Celebration

This Independence Day, we were honored to welcome the community to Spotlight 29 Casino in the Coachella Valley and Tortoise Rock Casino in the High Desert for a celebration filled with food, fun, and fireworks! Families, friends, and neighbors gathered for a free public event that brought everyone together in the spirit of unity and tradition.

Guests enjoyed a delicious BBQ, a variety of other food vendors, and refreshing drinks while soaking in the festive atmosphere. Live music and entertainment kept the energy high, and our game booths and giveaways added to the excitement.

As the sun set, we all looked to the sky for a breathtaking fireworks display, lighting up the night in a dazzling tribute to freedom and togetherness. As a Tribe, we take great pride in creating moments like these—where families can gather, laugh, and celebrate. We are grateful for the opportunity to host events that bring joy to our local communities and reinforce the importance of connection, tradition, and shared experiences.

Thank you for celebrating with us!

Annual Easter Donation

Community has always been a cornerstone of the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians.

As part of our annual Easter giving tradition, we were honored to partner with the ASYMCA to provide groceries and essential household items to military families at the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps base.

This effort reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting those who serve and recognizing the important role their families play. Through acts of service and partnership, we continue to strengthen the bonds that connect our communities.

From our family to yours, we wish you a Happy Easter.

Shop With a Cop- Back to School

Held twice each year, Shop With a Cop is a collaborative program between SEBA (Sheriff’s Employees’ Benefit Association) and the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians. The initiative supports at-risk youth from kindergarten through high school by giving them the opportunity to shop for school supplies, clothing, and other essential items before the school year begins.

During the event, students are paired with Sheriff’s Deputies and Tribal Public Safety Officers, creating opportunities for positive interaction with law enforcement and strengthening trust, mentorship, and community connection. In addition to helping students prepare for academic success, the program eases financial pressure on families and ensures local youth begin the school year with the resources and confidence they need to succeed.

Backpack Donation Drive

Each year, the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians purchases and donates 1,800 backpacks and lunch bags to local school districts and community organizations, including:

  • Joshua Tree Rotary Club
  • Armed Services YMCA
  • Morongo Unified School District
  • Coachella Valley School District

This annual donation gives families meaningful support during the back-to-school season and equips students with the supplies they need to learn, grow, and succeed. By promoting educational readiness, the Tribe is helping create opportunities for future generations and investing in the long-term success of local youth.

CVRM Cooling Station Water Donations

During the summer months, the Tribe donates two pallets of bottled water each month to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission in support of its cooling station. The station offers relief and hydration to vulnerable community members, including unhoused individuals, seniors, and others affected by extreme desert heat.

This annual commitment reflects the Tribe’s broader dedication to helping community members access essential resources during periods of dangerous heat and to supporting those most in need.

DESERT WILDLIFE CELEBRATION

A celebration of our vulnerable desert wildlife. Activities include interactive learning experiences, encounters with live desert tortoises, games, Living Desert animal encounters, music, refreshments & giveaways.

TRIBAL EARTH DAY EVENTS

The Twenty-Nine Palms Tribal Environmental Protection Agency and Tribal Historic Preservation Office participate in community-led and tribal earth days throughout the year.
